Dhanush is a fierce gangster in the first trailer of Netflix’s upcoming film Jagame Thandhiram.

The trailer of the much-awaited Tamil action-drama film Jagame Thandhiram, which stars Superstar Dhanush in the role of a Madurai gangster was released on Monday.

Jagame Thandhiram stars Dhanush and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles. Dhanush is playing the character which has three shades. The film is written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by S Sashikanth and Chakravarthy Ramachandra under the banners YNOT Studios and Reliance Entertainment.

The trailer introduces Dhanush as a gangster from Madurai who travels to London to lock horns with a local gangster played by James Cosmo of Game of Thrones fame.

Though by looking at the trailer it appears as both James Cosmo and Dhanush share a past relationship that has turned bitter. The film will reveal the plot and will track Dhanush’s journey as a gangster from Madurai to London.

While earlier all the posters and the teasers which were released highlighted the comical Side of Suruli, played by Dhanush, the trailer turns the spotlight on the gangster in him.

From violence to vengeance to innocence and fun, Suruli seems to be a character who has many shades. Meanwhile, Aishwarya Lekshmi is seen as a singer who performs at a hotel.

The film has reportedly shot in London apart from a few other places in the UK.

The action entertainer was initially slated for theatrical release in May last year, however, it had to be postponed because of the pandemic.

The film is now scheduled to be released on 18th June , 2020 on OTT platforms Netflix along with dubbed versions which will stream in Telegu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
