On Thursday , Supreme Court has asked the solicitor general Tushar Mehta to ensure to solve the issue of daily commuters of Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon within a week who are facing problem regarding commuting because of contradictory policies.
“Let Solicitor General Tushar Mehta take instructions on this and a meeting will be convened by Delhi, UP and Haryana officials to decide a common portal for interstate movement in NCR region. Let this be done in a week,” a Supreme Court bench, headed by Ashok Bhushan said.
An appeal was made that there should be one pass for all three states Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi rather than having three separate passes. Though the Ministry of Home Affairs has declared a free inter-state travel but local authorities are creating trouble looking at actual health situation.
“In the facts of the present case, all state officials shall endeavour to find out a common program and portal for inter-state movement, in the NCR region. Let the needful be done within a week,” the SC order states.
Noida authority reaffirmed that they won’t open the borders during Unlock 1.0. Meanwhile, in Haryana borders are being opened but as Delhi government has imposed restrictions regarding opening of borders following which Haryana government has also sealed their borders now.
Now, movement is permitted to essential service staff those who have the special travel permit. But the difficulty that occurred was of three states having different portals leading to issue of 3 different sets of e-pass which aroused a difficulty of commuting and crossing Delhi NCR borders, especially for those living in one state and working in another. As a solution to this, Supreme Court has ordered all three states Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi to apply One NCR, One pass, One Portal within one week.
