Director-General Vinod Giri requested 10 states to allow the sale of alcohol in the retail shops. He added due to complete lockdown there is a ban on the sale of alcohol items throughout the country. Which has lead to an increase in the sale of illicit and spurious alcoholic drinks and it will, in turn, result in the deterioration of the health conditions of citizens?
Today as a result of Vinod Giri’s request West Bengal government has allowed the sale of alcohol in the state from 2-5 PM. No shops will be open and alcohol will home delivered. Bar, discs, and lounges will remail close.
“There are serious patients that have been prescribed to consume alcohol on a daily basis as medication,” Giri said.

Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal respectively to lift the ban on alcohol retail shop.
