Beware Peeps! This Year Celebrating Holi Amid Second Wave of Covid -19 Can Be Dangerous for Everyone.

While spending more than a year in the confines of the ongoing pandemic has certainly been dull, the festival of colour “Holi” is back to brighten up your life.

It is that time of the year when vibrant hues fill the sky, and when everyone comes together to celebrate and strengthen their bonds by bringing colours and positivity to their life.

This year Holika Dahan will be celebrated on March 28, and Holi will be celebrated on March 29 respectively.

If we talk about last year, the festival of Holi proceeded quite normally, as it arrived about two weeks before Indian entered its first Covid-19 lockdown.

This year, However, the festive celebrations will most certainly be different as the country remains stuck within the pandemic and witnessing more than 60,000 cases of Covid Cases with each passing day.

While Vaccinations have started making rounds in some sections of the population it is still our responsibility to focus on our collective safety.

India is facing a spike in the daily new cases of Covid-19 since February and it is reported that this sudden rise in cases indicates that the second wave of the Coronavirus has been started in India.

If reports are to be believed then the second wave might last up to 100 days. The localized lockdowns have been ineffective and the only way to win the war against Covid -19 is by increasing the spread of vaccination.

Considering the duration from the present level of daily new cases to the peak India saw last year, the country is expected that reach the high in the second half of April. The Second wave could last until the end of May, which can see an addition of 25 lakh cases if trends till March 26 are taken into consideration.

Meanwhile, to ensure that the festival proceeds smoothly, State governments like Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana, Odisha, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkhand have banned the Celebration of Holi in public places this year.

Last year we all had spent most of our time at home which has affected us emotionally, mentally, and economically. We need to be caution this time, as our single mistake can cost our owns life. We need to continue the good habit of wearing masks and following social distancing guidelines.

Be it a public setting or at home, we need to follow the Covid-19 guidelines to ensure not just our safety but also the safety of our loved ones.
