Bangladesh Start Asia Cup 2025 with Dominant Win Over Hong Kong

Bangladesh began their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a confident seven-wicket win over Hong Kong in the Group B clash at Sheikh Zayed Stadium Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
After winning the toss, Bangladesh captain chose to bowl first Hong Kong’s innings never really took off as their batters struggled against disciplined bowling Captain Nizakat Khan showed some fight with a steady 42 while Zeeshan Ali added 30 runs. However regular wickets at key intervals restricted Hong Kong to 143/7 in 20 overs. For Bangladesh Taskin Ahmed Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rishad Hossain each picked up two wickets ensuring Hong Kong never accelerated in the death overs
Chasing 144 Bangladesh looked solid from the start Opener Litton Das played the anchor role smashing 59 off just 39 balls with six fours and a six His fluent innings set the tone for the chase Towhid Hridoy remained unbeaten on 35 guiding Bangladesh home in 17.4 overs. The batting looked composed and the team never appeared under pressure.
With this win Bangladesh made a strong statement at the start of the tournament while Hong Kong will need to regroup quickly to stay alive in the competition.
