Andre Russell retires from international cricket

The power-hitter of West Indies cricket, who always gave the best finishing touches to the team, Andre Russell has retired from international cricket at the age of 37. He played his last international match at Sabina Park, Kingston, in front of Australia.
In his last match, he scored a quick 36 runs, showing his hitting power once again. He played at a strike rate of 240 and gave West Indies a strong finish. Andre Russell is the name of a hard-hitter who always showed his power game, as usual, throughout his career.
Russell has played 84 T20Is for the West Indies, scoring 1,078 runs at an average of 22 and a strike rate of 163.08. As a bowler, he took 61 wickets with an economy rate of 9.30. He also played 54 One-Day Internationals.
He represented West Indies for the past 15 years and played in more than 140 international matches. He was also part of the 2012 and 2016 T20 World Cup winning teams.
I’m very grateful to end my career here in front of my own crowd, family, and friends,” Russell said after the match. “The result didn’t go my way, but I’m happy and thankful. I wish the boys all the very best moving forward.”
He was one of the most feared finishers in world cricket. His presence will definitely be missed in the West Indies team.
