गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णु: गुरुर्देवो महेश्वर:।
गुरु: साक्षात् परंब्रह्म तस्मै श्री गुरवे नम:।।
This means Guru is Brahma, Guru is Vishnu, Guru is Mahesh, Guru is supreme Brahman itself Prostration unto that Guru. Guru meaning is indefinable but the word Guru came from Sanskrit word ‘Gu’ (Darkness or ignorance) and ‘Ru’ (Removal). Hence Guru is believed to be the removal of darkness from life.
