NO CONFIDENCE MOTION BY CONGRESS AGAINST BJP

By Anshika Khera

The Congress moved on a no confidence motion against the BJP led state government in the monsoon session in Odisha assembly. They submitted it for its alleged all-round failure, particularly for being unable to check the growing crimes against women and fertiliser shortage in the state. This decision was taken during a meeting of the Congress legislature party. CLP leader Ramachandra Kadam said Congress had raised the issue of growing crimes against women even during the last Assembly session but instead of discussing the issue, all the 14 MLAs of the party were suspended.

Das also mentioned the murder of the missing lady traffic constable whose dead body was found on Wednesday from a forested area at Ghatagaon in Keonjhar, calling it as the failure of the government. The Congress party has demanded the reply from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi who holds the home portfolio.

Earlier on Wednesday, the opposition Congress had announced to bring a no confidence motion against the BJP-led state government during the monsoon session of the Odisha Assembly, which began from Thursday. CLP Leader Rama Chandra Kadam briefed the media by saying , “The state government has failed to act on all the pressing issues, such as the safety of women, maintaining law and order, problems faced by farmers, dalits and tribals and OBCs. So, we decided to bring a no-confidence motion against this state government in this assembly session.”
