15 August 2025, Independence Day at Red Fort.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about the National Sports Policy (NSP) 2025 in his speech. He said this policy will create new opportunities for India. PM Modi said this is a part of development and it will help sports to grow in every part of the country.
He added that from a small school to the Olympics, players will now have opportunities and support. The government is working to give equal focus on rural areas also, not only towns. Modi said the aim is to take sports to villages, so that talent from remote areas can also reach the big stage.
He also shared that in the past, parents used to feel sports was a waste of time, but now the mindset has changed. Today, parents feel proud when their children play for the country. Modi called this a positive sign for Indian sports.
NSP 2025 will also bring better facilities, coaching, and infrastructure for players. At the same time, new models will involve corporates and public sector units in supporting athletes. The idea is to connect local level sports with international level.
PM Modi called this policy a game changer for India. He said it will inspire the youth, bring discipline and confidence, and prepare the next generation of champions. With NSP 2025, India is ready to move from small grounds to the world stage.
