21st June brings consistency at its peak: International Yoga Day
21st June is the day, when most every citizen comes out of his house, and protects the sustaining of the relaxed state of the mind, by doing different yoga exercises. Today is international Yoga Day. The most astonishing fact is that our international Yoga Day was started by our honorable Prime Minister, “Narendra Modi”. In 2019, the capital of Jharkhand ( Ranchi) had hosted the main yoga day event. The event had occurred at Prabhat Tara ground today in the morning where PM Modi had performed Yoga along with 18,000 people, including Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
International Day of Yoga, or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015. An international day for yoga was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice originated in India.
The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his UN address suggested the date of 21 June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world.
“Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies the unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day.”,PM Narendra Modi said in UN General Assembly.
As far as the origin is concerned, Lord Shiva is considered the father of ancient yoga while some historian claims that Patanjali is the father of modern yoga. As far as the venues are concerned, 1,000 Hindu seers, mahants and religious leaders would perform Yoga at premises of Statue of Unity. If we look forward to the celebration way of our Bollywood celebrities, then they are the ones who are amazingly enthusiastic and agile, towards the instinct of doing yoga, to motivate and inspire the nation, on the large scale.
