Such broadcasts may inadvertently encourage or incite violence, disrupt public order, and pose risks to national security, the statement says.
The Information & Broadcasting Ministry issued a warning on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to TV channels against broadcasting sensitive content related to the car bomb blast. This includes videos of accused individuals that could be interpreted as justifying violent acts.
The advisory was issued hours after an undated video purportedly of Umar un Nabi, a doctor who was allegedly behind the wheel of the car that exploded on November 10 near the Red Fort in Delhi, was telecast by some news channels.
The advisory stated that the Ministry has noticed that certain news channels have been broadcasting content related to individuals allegedly involved in the Red Fort blast. This content has been used to justify their violent actions and has also included information and videos on how to create explosive materials.
The Ministry has flagged the rules concerning content that is likely to incite violence, promote anti-national sentiments, or undermine the nation’s integrity.
“All TV channels are further advised to refrain from telecasting visuals that could facilitate, encourage, or promote illegal activities, as stated in the document.
