The Real Kabaddi League (RKL) is all set to take a giant leap as it goes global with its first international tournament in December 2025. The landmark event will be hosted in Dubai featuring teams from India Iran Bangladesh UAE and Australia.

This move is being seen as a major step in giving kabaddi — a traditional Indian sport with over 400 years of history — an international platform. Founder Shubham Chaudhary said the Dubai edition will not just be a competition but a cultural movement aimed at taking kabaddi to the world stage. The global edition will bring together stars and new talents alike. Rannvijay Singha the league’s ambassador called it a defining moment while global patron Rashid Al Habtoor and kabaddi icon Rahul Chaudhari stressed the importance of building kabaddi’s fan base outside India.
The matches will take place in a state-of-the-art indoor arena in Dubai with a focus on top-class production entertainment and fan engagement. Organisers believe the Dubai event will showcase kabaddi’s mix of strength agility and strategy helping the sport attract global recognition. The RKL had earlier tested waters with an exhibition match in Dubai in December 2024 which drew a positive response and laid the foundation for this five-nation clash. The tournament now promises to be a much bigger spectacle.
By taking kabaddi beyond its traditional roots RKL aims to empower grassroots talent and present the sport as a global phenomenon. With Dubai set to witness history in December kabaddi’s journey towards international stardom has truly begun.
