Rahul Gandhi Meets Kharge After Congress’ Bihar Rout, Raises ‘Vote Chori’ Allegations

Congress top leadership gathers to review Bihar poll disaster and intensify claims of electoral malpractice.

🔹 Congress Begins Review After Bihar Election Defeat

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met party president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi to analyse the party’s heavy loss in the Bihar Assembly Election 2025. Senior leaders, including KC Venugopal and Ajay Maken, also joined the discussion. The leadership agreed that the poor performance requires an immediate internal review.

🔹 Party’s Poor Performance Raises Concerns

The Congress contested 61 seats in Bihar but won only six. This result has raised serious concerns about the party’s strategy, booth-level organisation, and communication with voters. Because of this, the party will conduct a detailed assessment to understand the gaps and prepare a stronger plan for the future.

🔹 Rahul Gandhi Repeats ‘Vote Chori’ Accusation

During the meeting, Rahul Gandhi again accused authorities of “vote chori”. He claimed that voter list manipulation occurred during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. According to him, irregularities in the voter rolls may have influenced the final election outcome. The Congress also said it has documents that support these claims.

🔹 Congress Demands Transparent Investigation

The Congress leadership stressed the need for a fair and transparent probe into the alleged irregularities. They argued that if the charges are proven, it would be a serious violation of democratic norms. Therefore, the party plans to push for official scrutiny to protect voter rights and maintain trust in the electoral system.

🔹 Party Plans Organisational Course Correction

After reviewing the situation, the party will focus on rebuilding its grassroots network. It plans to strengthen booth teams, improve local engagement, and refine its messaging for future elections. This meeting marks the first major step in a broader effort to restructure and revive the party’s presence in Bihar.

Stay tuned for updates as Congress intensifies its review and rallies around electoral reform.
