Happy Birthday Kajol: Celebrating the Evergreen Star of Bollywood

By Amit Kumar

Today, August 5, we celebrate the birthday of one of Bollywood’s most beloved and iconic actresses,
Kajol, who turns 51. With her signature laugh, expressive eyes, and powerful performances, Kajol has
remained a timeless figure in Indian cinema for over three decades.

Born in 1974 into a family deeply rooted in the film industry, her mother being veteran actress Tanuja
and father filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, Kajol made her Bollywood debut at just 18 with Bekhudi
(1992). However, it was Baazigar (1993), opposite Shah Rukh Khan, that made her a household
name.
Kajol’s on-screen chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan is legendary. Together, they delivered some of the
most iconic films in Indian cinema, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
(1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), and My Name Is Khan (2010). Her ability to blend
emotion, charm, and authenticity has won her critical acclaim and fan devotion alike.
She holds multiple Filmfare Awards and was honored with the Padma Shri in 2011, one of India’s
highest civilian awards, for her contribution to Indian cinema.
Married to actor Ajay Devgn, the couple has two children and are among Bollywood’s most
respected power couples. Despite her intermittent appearances on screen, Kajol continues to leave a
strong impact with her roles, whether it’s her fierce performance in Tanhaji or her recent digital
projects like The Trial.
Off-screen, she is known for her charitable work, sense of humor, and outspoken nature. She has
supported several causes, particularly related to education and girl child welfare.
As she turns 51, the industry and fans flood social media with wishes, admiration, and nostalgia for
the unforgettable characters she’s portrayed. Kajol remains not just an actress, but a symbol of
talent, grace, and individuality.
Here’s wishing Kajol a very happy birthday and many more years of inspiring performances, laughter,
and success. Bollywood wouldn’t be the same without her unique spark!
