Ranveer Singh Receives Crores-Worth Extortion Threat Linked to WhatsApp Voice Note

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has received a threatening WhatsApp voice note demanding crores of rupees in ransom, police said on Tuesday. The threat comes days after a firing incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s home in Mumbai.

Mumbai Police have stepped up security outside the 40-year-old actor’s home and are tracing the sender of the threat. 

Police suspect that members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang could be behind the threat to Ranveer, who most recently starred in the blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’, with the purpose of extortion, police said. 

The crime branch of Mumbai Police has launched a probe.
