Outer Ring Road Revamp: Modi Mill–IIT Gate Flyover Upgrade to Ease South Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon Traffic
Good news for commuters travelling between Noida south Delhi IGI Airport and Gurgaon. The Delhi government has a approved a long pending plan to decongest the busy outer ring road stretch between the Modi mill flyover and the Savitri cinema near the IIT gate. The 7.2 km from Modi mill flyover to IIT gate passes through densely populated and upscale neighbourhood such as Greater Kailash Malviya Nagar CR Park Chirag Dilli Pamposh Enclave Paschim enclave and Kalkaji and witnesses heavy congestion even during non-peak hours.
As this stretch is surrounded by residential colonies road widening is not feasible and repairs on this stretch have also been pending for long. To address the issue the public works department has proposed the Modi mill flyover up to the Kalkaji Temple flyover and constructing an additional half flyover at Kalkaji Temple a senior official said An additional half flyover at the Savitri cinema intersection has also been proposed to decongest the entire stretch the official added.
