By Ayush Sachan

In a concerning incident involving explosives recovery near the national capital, a team of Jammu and Kashmir police discovered a staggering 350 kg of explosives, suspected to be ammonium nitrate, along with an assault rifle in Faridabad, Haryana. This significant recovery occurred days after police apprehended a Kashmiri doctor from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur for allegedly displaying posters supporting the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar.

Sources reveal that the Faridabad recovery was a result of the revelations made by Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather during questioning. Dr. Rather disclosed that the explosives and arms were stored with another doctor, identified as Mujammil Shakeel. Shakil, who was also arrested, hails from Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir and works at Al-Falah hospital in Faridabad.

This incident dates back to October 27 when posters supporting the terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed were spotted in Srinagar. The local police investigated the matter, and CCTV footage revealed Rather’s involvement in posting the posters. Subsequently, he was tracked down to Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh and arrested last week. Police discovered that Rather had been employed at the Government Medical College, Anantnag, until October last year. During a search of his locker at Anantnag, an assault rifle was found. Based on information provided during questioning, the police successfully seized explosives in Faridabad.

Reports indicate that Srinagar police registered a case after discovering posters promoting Jaish-e-Mohammed in various parts of the city. During the investigation, CCTV footage revealed a man named Rather putting up the posters. Subsequently, the Jammu and Kashmir police tracked down Rather in Saharanpur and arrested him last week.
