By Anshika Khera

India beat Pakistan by six wickets in the Asia Cup in Dubai on Sunday, and head coach Gautam Gambhir praised the team, calling them “fearless.” This was India’s second win over Pakistan in the tournament. In the group stage, India had won easily by seven wickets, but this time Pakistan put up more of a fight. Batting first, Pakistan scored 171/5 , their highest score against India in T20Is when batting first. Sahibzada Farhan made a steady 58 runs, with some luck along the way, while Faheem Ashraf added a quick 20 runs from just eight balls to boost the total.
Chasing the target, India’s openers Abhishek Sharma with 74 runs and vice-captain Shubman Gill with 47 runs , gave the team a strong start. Gill played with solid technique, while Abhishek attacked with powerful shots. Together, they dominated Pakistan’s weak bowling and scored 105 runs in just 9.5 overs, easing the pressure on the middle-order batters.
After India chased down the target, coach Gautam Gambhir shared pictures of Abhishek, Shubman, and the team on Instagram, captioning each with the word “Fearless.” Celebrations continued, with even the BCCI vice-president sending his wishes.
