World Boxing Championships – Historic night for India

In Liverpool India created history at the World Boxing Championships 2025 with a remarkable performance from the women boxers. The night belonged to Jaismine Lamboria who clinched the gold medal in the women’s 57 kg category Jaismine defeated Poland’s Olympic silver medallist Julia Szeremeta with a 4-1 split decision marking one of the biggest achievements of her career After moving down from 60 kg to 57 kg post the Paris Olympics setback this victory proved to be a turning point for her
Adding to the glory Nupur Sheoran bagged the silver medal in the women’s +80 kg category. Nupur showed great determination throughout the tournament and her silver medal brought huge pride for the nation. India’s successful run didn’t end there Minakshi Hooda also won gold in the 48 kg category while Pooja Rani secured a bronze medal taking India’s overall tally to four medals – two gold one silver and one bronze.
This performance has been hailed as one of India’s finest outings at the World Boxing Championships. With these achievements Indian women boxers have once again proved their strength on the global stage bringing glory and setting new benchmarks for the future.
