Indian Runner Parvej Khan Gets Six-Year Ban
By Abhishek Kumar
Indian middle-distance runner Parvej Khan has been banned for six years by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). The decision comes after Khan failed a doping test and also failed to give his correct location for testing. This is a big setback for the athlete who had shown a lot of promise.

Parvej Khan is famous for running 800m and 1500m races. He made history by becoming the first Indian track athlete to compete at the NCAA Championships in the USA. He had also performed well in national and international competitions and broke several records in his career.
The doping test found EPO, a substance that increases red blood cells and helps improve performance. Along with this, not giving proper location information for tests is also considered a violation of rules.
This ban is a warning to all athletes about following anti-doping rules and being honest about their whereabouts. Sports must remain fair and transparent, and rules are there to make sure every athlete competes on equal terms. Parvej Khan’s career now faces a major challenge, and the focus will be on how India manages anti-doping awareness for future athletes.
