Shubman Gill Named ICC Men’s Player of the Month in July

India Test captain Shubman Gill has been slacted for ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for July 2025. He really impressed in England series with his batting proformance and played some big innings which helped India in the Test series.

In July month Shubman Gill scored 567 runs at an average of 94.50. In this run they smashed one double hundred and two hundred. His best came in the Birmingham Test where he scored 269 runs in the first innings and 161 runs in the second innings. His total of 430 runs in a single Test match is the second highest by any Indian batsman, only behind Graham Gooch’s 456 runs record.

This is the 4th ICC Player of the Month award for Shubman Gill. He is the only player in men’s cricket who won this award 4 times. He won it before in January 2023, September 2023 and February 2025.

For this month’s award, Gill beat England captain Ben Stokes and South Africa all-rounder Wiaan Mulder.

After winning the award Shubman Gill said, “I am very happy to get ICC Player of the Month for July. This award is special because it came from my first Test series as captain. My double hundred in Birmingham will always be special for me.”

His great batting form and captaincy helped India level the Test series in England and also proved why he is one of the best batsman in world cricket right now.
