During a match in the Delhi Premier League 2025 between South Delhi Superstarz and West Delhi Lions, a big fight happened on the cricket field.

Indian spinner Digvesh Rathi is once again in controversy after a heated on-field incident during a Delhi Premier League (DPL) match between South Delhi Superstarz and West Delhi Lions.

The fight began when Rathi, playing for South Delhi, had a verbal argument with West Delhi opener Ankit Kumar. The bowler suddenly stopped in his run-up and changed his bowling angle. After this, he used abusive language towards the batsman, which led to a tense moment in the match.

In response, Ankit Kumar hit two huge sixes off Rathi’s bowling in the same over. He also made a hand gesture after the shots, as a reply to the abuse. Ankit went on to score an excellent 96 runs from just 46 balls, helping his team win by 8 wickets.

On the other hand, Rathi had a poor performance. He bowled 3 overs, gave 33 runs, and did not take any wickets.

The video of the incident quickly went viral on social media. Many fans and former players criticised Rathi for using foul language and losing his temper on the field.

This is not the first time Rathi has faced trouble. In IPL 2025, he was fined and suspended for one match due to aggressive celebrations and breaking the code of conduct. His “notebook celebration” had also received mixed reactions.

The Delhi Premier League management may now take action against him again. Cricket experts believe that Rathi needs to focus on discipline and team spirit, especially as a professional player with IPL experience.
