India vs England Test Series: Big Drama Before Final Match!

By Abhishek Kumar

London, July 29, 2025
The ongoing Test series between India and England is filled with tension and things have heated up just before the final match at The Oval.

Gautam Gambhir vs Groundsman Fight

During India’s practice session at The Oval, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir got into a heated argument with the stadium’s head groundsman, Lee Fortis.

The clash happened when India’s staff moved some training equipment across a restricted part of the field. The groundsman tried to stop them to protect the pitch.

Gambhir lost his temper and shouted, “You don’t tell us what to do. You are just a groundsman.”

India’s assistant coach Sitanshu Kotak defended the team, saying they did not damage the pitch and accused the groundsman of overreacting.

Fights and Frustration in Previous Matches Too

This is not the first time tempers have flared during the series:

In the 3rd Test, Indian player Shubman Gill shouted at England’s Zak Crawley.

In the 4th Test, India refused to stop the match early, allowing Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar to complete their centuries. England players showed visible frustration and poor sportsmanship.

Australian media criticized England’s behavior, calling it a “tantrum” and saying they lost their sportsmanship.

What’s Next?

The final Test will begin on July 31 at The Oval.

England leads the series 2–1. If they win or draw, they will win the series.

If India wins, the series will end in a 2–2 draw.

There is a lot of pressure on coach Gambhir, who has won only a few matches since becoming the head coach.
