Lucknow: Police Constable’s Wife Dies by Suicide

Lucknow, July 27, 2025:
A young woman named Saumya Kashyap, wife of police constable Anurag Singh, died by suicide in Lucknow. She was found hanging in her rented house in the Mamapur Bana area under BKT police station.

Before her death, Saumya shared a video on Instagram.
She said that:

Her in-laws were harassing her.

They wanted her husband to marry another woman.

Her brother-in-law, who is also a policeman, threatened to kill her.

A lawyer in the family told her husband that if he kills her, he will help him escape punishment.

Police came to the house and started the investigation

A forensic team also checked the place.

Saumya’s family lives in Mainpuri. They were informed.

Police said they will definitely file a case after the family gives an official complaint.

Saumya was married only for a few months.
Her last video shocked many people on social media.
It shows how dowry problems and family abuse still hurt many women in India.
People are now demanding strict action against those who caused this.
