NO SURVIVORS : RUSSIA PLANE CRASH

Russian Angara Airline flight crashes, killing 43 passengers including five children and six crew members, according to the state owned News agency, TASS. 

This Russian passenger plane crashed in the eastern Amur region. This Siberia-based airline , named Angara -An 24 – went missing after radar screens dropped off while it was approaching its destination of Tynda, a town in Amur region bordering China , said by regional governor Vasily Orlov. The plane was en-route from Blagoveshchensk.

Officials said that all necessary means and forces have left to search for the plane. The reason for the crash which is being considered is the crew error during landing due to poor visibility. This plane was built in 1976 , as showed by its tail number.

It was operated by Soviet flag carrier Aeroflot before the 1991 collapse of Soviet union.The burning fuselage of the plane , which  was from the Soviet era , was spotted on the ground by a helicopter.

This Mi-8 helicopter was from Russian civil aviation and spotted the plane on a hillside about 16 km from Tynda. Its debris was found in eastern Amur. It was shown that plane came crashing down in a densely forested area.

There were 49 passengers on board and according to preliminary information, there were no survivors. The Ministry of Civil defence, Emergencies and disaster relief said on thursdat that this plane dropped off radar screens while going towards its destination. Russian rescuers found the fuselage of the plane in flames.

The governor said that there were 43 passengers. The Emergencies ministry put the number of people on board somewhat lower , like around 40.

The federal Russian government said that it ad set up a commission to deal with the aftermath of the crash and announced an investigation into the cause.

Russia frequently also experiences non-fatal accidents that results in rerouted flights and emergency landings. Though Russia’s aviation safety standards have improved , accidents, especially involving ageing planes in far-flung regions are common.
