Why India vs Pakistan Legends match canceled

The World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 begins from 18 July to 2 August in England. India Legends vs Pakistan Legends match was on July 20, India’s 1st match in the league and Pakistan’s 2nd match in the league,
One of the biggest and most awaited matches in the league —
But canceled.
Why was the match canceled?
A terrorist attack in Pahalgam (Jammu & Kashmir) in April 2025 killed many innocent people.
And this is the main reason why the India vs Pakistan Legends match was canceled. Because of this, many Indian players like
Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, and others refused to play against Pakistan.
They clearly said — “Nation comes first”, and they didn’t feel right playing this match at such a time.
The message was clear from their side, “For us, our nation’s pride is most important — more than money, popularity, or fun. Our country is our first priority.”
The terror attack in Pahalgam (J&K) killed 26 people earlier this year. After that, tension started building between both nations. So this was a very important decision from our players. It shows their national emotions and love for the country.

What did the organizers say?
The organizers said they wanted to create a fun event, but they hurt the feelings of many people by including this match. They apologized and officially canceled the match. People who bought tickets will get a full refund.
What next?
The tournament will continue as well,
But without the India vs Pakistan match.
Pakistan was given 2 points for the canceled match.
This cancellation shows that national emotions come first — More important than anything else.
