14 September 2022 (New Delhi): Pakistani left-arm spinner has reportedly been charged with two violations and given 14 days to respond. Asif Afridi is a domestic cricketer who represents Khyber Pakhtunakhwa in Pakistan. Afridi’s performance earned him his first Pakistan call-up. He has joined their white ball squad for this year’s home series against Australia. He has maintained his amazing form and has performed admirably.

Afridi didn’t get to play a single game against Australia

The award was given to the 35-year-old spinner for a massive and impressive performance. For Multan Sultans, he took 8 wickets with an economy of 6.52. He was suggested to the Pakistan team as a replacement for star player Mohammad Nawaz, but he did not play in any of the games against Australia.

Afridi is not the single player that PCB has suspended

Afridi recently played in Pakistan’s ongoing National T20 Cup. On August 31, he faced Central Punjab. He will be unable to participate in any competitive cricket match. The charges have not been specified by PCB. According to them, Afridi has been suspended with immediate effect under article 4.7.1 of the board’s constitution, which gives it authority to do so. Afridi is not the only player who has been suspended by the PCB for failing to report corrupt practises. Umar Akmal and Mohammed Irfan were also banned for similar offences in the past.
