This IAS officer penned down his challenges for becoming first and only officer to climb Mount Everest.
The first IAS officer to scale the Mount Everest today came out with a motivational book for students.
The book titled Many Everest: An Inspiring Journey of Transforming Dream Into Reality is penned by Ravindra Kumar, a 2011 batch IAS officer.
He shares his secret to success and his journey from the deep sea, where he spent almost a decade as a seafarer before scaling the Mt Everest, in the book. It was released by Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha here.
Kumar said the book was motivational in nature, detailing the ups and downs of his life and how he avoided the negatives and focused on positives to realize his dream.
He said the book also talks about Advanced Positive Visualisation.
“The reason behind the effectiveness of this new technique has been explained scientifically by connecting the dots of old as well as modern scientific researches, including Einstein’s theory of relativity and yogic research in a very simple way,” he said.
“Many Everest will help students overcome the hurdles and achieve success in life. This book would prove helpful for those who have a dream in their life, but could not achieve because of some persisting problems.
“Where there is a will, there is a way, and if you set your sight high, you can go very high in life,” Kumar, who attributed his success to his inherent resilience and firm resolve to pursue his dreams, said.
Sinha complimented the tenacity of Kumar to have undertaken the rare challenge of scaling the Everest.
“This is a thought-provoking book which has tremendous potential to change the way you look at your life. It reveals to you the hidden potential lying idle in you, using which you can fulfill your long cherished dreams. It gives you a new approach to life, a new way to live a happy, successful and peaceful life,” he said.
The event was attended by more than dozen top bureaucrats including 1983 Batch IAS B K Prasad who was surrounded by young IAS officer present at the launch. Prasad shared his experience with the young officers.
The author, who is at present posted as Chief Development Officer of Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh, is also an adventure sports lover. He was awarded Sikkim Khel Ratna Award and Vishesh Khel Samman.
