The government brought a unique gift for retired and elderly citizens by launching a unique face recognition technology with an aim to bring ‘ease in living’ to senior citizens. Read the full story to know more about this technology.
It was launched by Union Minister of State Mr. Jitendra Singh who said “Face recognition technique of giving Life certificate is historic and far-reaching reform since it will touch the lives of not only 68 lakh central government pensioners but also crore of pensioners who fall of the jurisdiction of the department such as employees. ”
Singh talked about the government headed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi always tried to provide comfort to all sections of society especially senior citizens of the country who are the nation’s assets with all their experience and long year service to the nation rendered by them.
He also thanked the Department of Pension who tried to bring several reforms even in the coronavirus pandemic situation to provide comfort to all pensioners of this country.
The Minister said that the Department of Pension has been extensively using technology to achieve this end, be it the introduction of Digital Life Certificate, introduction of an intelligent common software ”Bhavishya” for all government of India Ministries for processing pension cases.
He further added, “the effort in issuing electronic PPOs and pushing the same in Digi locker is a huge step towards Ease of living and Transparency.” The department would bring out the e-booklets on every social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter etc.. to create awareness about this technology among pensioners.
