Indian men’s hockey team created a record the moment they scored the 18th goal against Hong Kong in their second match of the tournament. They went on to break their biggest win margin record.
Indian men’s hockey team continued their dominance in the ongoing Asian Games 2018 where after thrashing Indonesia 17-0 in their opening match, the Men in Blue created a record against Hong Kong in their second match of the tournament. In the third quarter, India scored their 18th goal of the match with which they also broke the Asian Games record for the maximum goals scored in a match.
In the previous match against Indonesia, India had equalled Pakistan’s record of maximum goals scored in the history of Asian Games. India’s previous highest margin of win was a 12-0 over Iran in 1974 and Bangladesh in 1982.At the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, India had defeated United States 24-1.
