Shockwaves in Bengal: Trainee Doctor’s Murder Sparks Massive Outrage and Calls for Justice
The case of a trainee doctor’s horrific rape and murder in Bengal has sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice. The victim’s mother has now broken her silence, shedding light on the grim details surrounding her daughter’s death.
According to the mother’s statement, the family first received a call from the hospital indicating that their daughter was ill. The call was abruptly cut off, and upon following up, they were told to come to the hospital. A subsequent call from someone claiming to be the assistant superintendent informed them that their daughter had committed suicide.
The mother revealed further details, saying, “She went on duty on Thursday, and we received the call on Friday at 10:53 AM. When we arrived, we were not allowed to see her immediately; permission was granted only at 3 PM. Her pants were open, and she was covered with only a single piece of clothing. Her hand was broken, and there was blood coming from her eyes and mouth. It was evident from her condition that she had been murdered. I told them that it was not a suicide, but a murder. We had worked so hard to make her a doctor, only to have her killed.”
The mother also commented on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s response, stating, “The Chief Minister had promised that the perpetrators would be arrested quickly, but so far, only one person has been apprehended. I am convinced that many more are involved. I believe the entire department is responsible for this incident. The police have not done a good job at all. It seems the Chief Minister is trying to suppress the protests; they have imposed Section 144 today to prevent people from demonstrating.”
The case has drawn significant attention and has led to heightened demands for accountability and justice for the victim.
