President Donald Trump pledges to deport 3 million immigrants, after taking over the presidency from Barack Obama.

Donald Trump said Sunday that he will deport between 2 and 3 million illegal immigrants who have a history of criminal activity.

The president-elect said that he intends to make good on a campaign promise to get rid of those illegal immigrants with criminal records, like gang members or drug dealers.

“We are getting them out of our country,” he said in a preview of his interview with “60 Minutes” that will air in its entirety Sunday night. “After the border is secure and after everything gets normalized, we’re going to make a determination on the people you’re talking about who are terrific people, they’re terrific people who we’re going to make a determination on, but before we make a determination, we want to secure our border.”

Trump also doubled down on his pledge to build a wall. Asked if he would accept a fence, as some in Congress have put forward as a less expensive option to a full border wall, Trump said it depends on the area.
