Tamilnadu Budget 2021-22 – Petrol prices cut by Rs 3 and the fiscal deficit increased to INR 58,692 crores.

Tamilnadu budget 2021-22 by the DMK government has a lot of unexpected amendments. Petrol prices drop by Rs 3. Opposition AIADMK has opposed the TN budget in financial terms stating, it lacks visionary aspects.

Some of the major budget allocation:

Finance minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan announced that funds for social security pension has been increased to 4807 crores.

A total of Rs. 81,884.70 crore has been allocated for the education development of Adi Dravidars and tribals.

Rs. 1725 crore has been allocated for the MGR lunch scheme for the years 2021-22.

Now mother-to-be will get one-year maternity leave.

The irrigation department will be allocated funds of Rs. 6607.

Rs. 32,599 will be dedicated to upgrading the education infrastructure of the state.

Rs. 623 crores allocated for buying new buses for under state travel and Rs. 703 crores will be induced by the state government to facilitate females in state buses without the fare.

The current finance ministerPalanivel Thiagarajan, popularly known as PTR is an unconventional political leader. He has spent 20-years abroad and has MBA in finance from Sloan School of Management in MIT. Before joining Stalin’s DMK party he has worked for various International Banks and corporations. His extensive knowledge in utilising capital for better revenue generation will definitely benefit the people of Tamilnadu.
