PM Modi inaugurated Phase 1 of Kashi Vishwanath corridor; See pics

PM Modi inaugurated Kashi Vishwanath corridor onMonday during his two day visit in Varanasi. During his address he stated that history is being created with the project. He urged Indians to make commitment to-sanitation, innovation and Atamnirbhar Bhart(self-reliant) India.


Prior to this, PM Modi took a holy dip into river Ganga and offered prayers. He was received by Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Yogi Adityanath when he landed in Varanasi he had a rousing welcome by the people of his Lok Sabha constituency.


The temple city’s Rs 339 crore project, the foundation which was laid by PM Modi on March 8,2019 has been completed in less than three years as planned, despite the Covid pandemic.


23 buildings would be inaugurated in this phase of project-spread over massive area of almost 5 lakh square feet. In comparison previous premises were 3,000 square feet.

Later in evening PM Modi will witness Ganga arti onboard a Ro-Ro vessel with Chief minister and deputy CMs from various BJP ruled states accompanying him. According to another official PM Modi will address conclave of 12 BJP CMs and 9 CMs on Tuesday in which they will share best governance practices of their respective states.


With UP Assembly elections around the corner, different political parties have sought the credit for recent developmental projects in state such as Puruvanchal Expressway which was inaugurated last month. For Kashi Vishwanath corridor, as well Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav claimed that project was approved during his term and he has documents to prove it.
