The ‘Garhwali Raj’ continues as Yogi Adityanath and Trivendra Singh Rawat became the CM of UP and UK respectively.
After Uttarakhand, it’s time for Uttar Pradesh to have a Garhwali ruler. Both Yogi Adityanath and Trivendra Singh Rawat are born in Pauri district of Uttarakhand.
Yogi Adityanath aka Ajay Singh Bisht was born in a Garhwali Rajput family in the Pauri district of Uttarakhand. The founder of ‘Hindu Yuva Vahini’ will be the fifth Chief Minister of India that is born in Pauri District of Uttarakhand. Apart from Yogi Adityanath and Trivendra Singh Rawat, the ‘Garhwali’ born Chief Minister List also includes Ramesh Pokhriyal, B.C Khanduri, and Vijay Bahuguna.

If we look at recent political changes of this country it is interesting to know that ‘Paharis’ are dominating the current political environment of this country.
In December 2016, Uttarakhand born Vipin Rawat became the Army Chief of India. Even if we are talking about Research and Analysis Wing (R.A.W) chief Anil Dhasmana (Pauri Garhwal) or National Security Advisor Ajit Doval who is also from, Pauri District of Uttarakhand, the whole ‘Garhwali Domination’ seems to be continuing in near future.
Who is Yogi Adityanath?
Born on June 5, 1972, Yogi Adityanath’s real name is Ajay Singh. He has a BSc degree from HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand. He was elected as the member of the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 from Gorakhpur constituency, becoming the youngest MP at the age of 26. He has so far been MP from the same constituency five times.
Known for his firebrand politics, Adityanath never had to rely on Modi wave to cling on to his seat or get anointed as the Uttar Pradesh CM. A fact that proves his immense popularity among the electorate is the margin of 1, 42,309 votes with which he won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Adityanath has several criminal cases against him. But that didn’t stop him from becoming the CM of the most populous and communally sensitive Uttar Pradesh. He has been charged in the past with rioting, attempt to murder, armed with deadly weapon, endangering life or personal safety of others, unlawful assembly, trespassing on burial places and criminal intimidation.
Not only in politics, the Garhwalis are showing their strong presence in Bollywood also. From talented actresses, Anushka Sharma and Urvashi Rautela to talented directors like Tigmanshu Dhulia and Ali Abbas Jaffar all have the Uttarakhand roots.
