NIT-Patna girl bags Rs 39.5 lakh job offer

 

Medha kumari 20, a computer science engineering student of National Institute of Technology –Patna (NIT-P), has bagged job offer with the annual pay package of Rs 39.5 lakh from Adobe Systems India Private Limited, a software company, as part of the placement drive of the institute. The package is said to be the highest ever bagged by any NIT-P student till date. This girl has scripted history scripted.She has bagged the highest every package at National Institute of Technology Patna.

Medha was shortlisted by the firm after rounds of tests-online, technical and interview. Around 40 students of NIT-P took the online test conducted by Adobe on the institute campus. It was followed by technical test and interview in Kolkata in the first week of October. Medha was the only student who cleared all rounds and secured a job.

Born too small trader Manoj Kumar Karak and homemaker Benu Karak of Madhubani, Medha will have to shift to Noida to work at the company’s headquarters. She will handle software development, implementation and coding. Medha did her matriculation from Regional Secondary School, Madhubani, and intermediate from Indian Public School, Madhubani.

A visible happy Medha said she was earlier placed in another software company and offered an annual pay package of Rs 8.75 lakh .” Since I was expecting better pay package, I started preparing for the placement once again and it worked. Medha will join the firm in June next year.

Samrat Mukherjee, training and placement in-charge of NIT-P, said, “This is the highest pay package for an NIT-P student. Adobe has selected an NIT-P student for the first time. The second highest package was offered by Amazon, in which five students were selected. Last year, six students were offered job by Amazon with the annual pay package of Rs 27.5 lakh each.”

So far, 25-odd companies, including Amazon, Oracle, Envestnet Yodlee, Wipro, TCS, Samsung, Tata Motors, Vedanta and L&T Construction have come for the first leg of placement. “Of the 300 eligible students, 184 have been placed in various companies. We are hoping that the institute will achieve 100% placement this season. The improvement is largely because of the students’ merit and the teachers’ contribution,” Mukherjee added.

National Institution of Technology Patna is the 18th National institution of Technology created by the Ministry of HRD. The government of India AFTER RECHRISTENING THE ERSTWHILE Bihar College of Engineering Patna on 28.01.2004.
