Wrestler murder case: Absconding Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar’s last location traced to Punjab

The last location of absconding Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, wanted in regarding the Chhatrasal Stadium fight that led to the death of a wrestler, was traced to Punjab’s Bathinda, official police sources said on Friday.

The Delhi Police had reported a prize of Rs 1 lakh for data prompting Sushil Kumar’s capture. A prize of Rs 50,000 has likewise been declared for the capture of his partner Ajay Kumar, who has been slipping away for the situation, police had said.

Sources said a several teams have been shaped and they are directing raids in a several parts of Haryana and Punjab to seize the wrestler.

Earlier, a Delhi Court refused to grant anticipatory bail to Sushil Kumar, saying he is prima facie the main conspirator and allegations against him are serious in nature.

Wrestler Sagar Rana died, while two of his companions Sonu and Amit Kumar got injured, after they were purportedly attacked by Sushil Kumar and different wrestlers on May 4 night, at the stadium premises in the national capital.

A Delhi Court had given non-bailable warrants against Sushil Kumar and six others. This came days after a lookout notice was given against the wrestler for the situation.

The Delhi Police has documented a FIR for the situation under areas 302 (murder), 308 (at fault manslaughter), 365 (abducting), 325 (causing grievous hurt), 323 (wilfully causing hurt), 341 (illegitimate restriction) and 506 (criminal terrorizing).

It has also been registered under 188 (Disobedience to order by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and various sections under the Arms Act.
