Who Will Be the Next Chief Minister of Uttarakhand?

March 21, 2022 (New Delhi ): After BJP’s clear sweep victory Uttrakhand Elections 2022, speculations about the CM post is already high in the BJP Camp. On Monday, Rajnath Singh is going to announce the name for the new CM of Uttarakhand and this will end all the speculations of ‘Political Pandits’. Preparations for making a new government in Uttarakhand is on the peak.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called up a meeting of MLAs regarding the decision to be taken for the one who would be the new CM face of Uttrakhand and who’s going to represent BJP in the state. BJP Uttarakhand is expected to send its central leadership including Union minister Rajnath Singh and MoS Meenakshi Lekhi for the meeting. The leaders may arrive a day earlier or on the same day, state BJP spokesman Shadab Shams told PTI.

Shadb Shams told, “The meeting of Legislative Party will be held in the evening. Thereafter, the Chief Minister’s name will be announced,” Mr Kaushik had said “All newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly will take oath at 11 am in Vidhan Sabha, tomorrow.” Earlier , Uttarakhand BJP chief Madan Kaushik on Sunday informed that all newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly will take oath in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday.

Notably, Dhami handed his resignation of his cabinet to Governor Lt. Gen (retd.) Gurmit Singh after the results. Although he continues to be the front runner for the post, other probable names doing the rounds include ‘Saffron’ face and MLA from Haridwar, Madan Kaushik, MLA Satpal Maharaj, Shrinagar MLA Dhan Singh Rawat and Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new cabinet is likely to take place on Tuesday and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J P Nadda along with chief ministers of several BJP-governed states are expected to attend the event.
