Due to incessant rains in Maharashtra, life has become hectic. A flood-like situation has prevailed in parts of Raigad, Ratnagiri, Palghar, Thane, and Nagpur. So far 41 people have lost their lives in the state due to the rains. The debris of the mountain fell due to incessant rains in Talai village of Raigad. 35 houses were buried under it. 36 people died in this accident. And more than 70 people have gone missing. 15 people have been rescued, while more than 30 people are still trapped under the rubble.
In view of this, the death toll may increase further. While eight people lost their lives due to landslides in the Satara district, five people died in Mumbai after a building collapsed. So far 41 people have died in the state. NDRF team is engaged in relief and rescue work. However, due to heavy rains, relief work is facing a lot of trouble here.
District Collector, Raigad Collector Nidhi Choudhary told news agency ANI that a total of 36 people died due to landslides in the district, 32 in the Talai area and four in Sakhar Sutar Wadi. At the same time in Satara also eight people have died while 2 people are still missing. The District Magistrate said that 27 people have been safely rescued.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that about 35 people lost their lives due to landslides in Talai village of Raigad. Relief and rescue work is going on in many places. The Chief Minister said that I have ordered the evacuation and relocation of those people where there is a possibility of landslides. Uddhav Thackeray said that the NDRF and other rescue teams are facing difficulty in reaching the flood-affected areas in Chiplun due to damage to roads and bridges.
At the same time, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadettiwar said that there is a situation of concern in Kolhapur due to the rise in the water level of the Panchganga River. He said that 40-50 casualties have been reported. 2 teams of NDRF are present there and one more is about to come.
