Shocking: 17 died in Delhi Hotel Arpit Palace, 2 jumped to escape but unfortunately died

A massive fire broke in Hotel Arpit Palace in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area. The death toll increased to 17 on Tuesday, officials said. They also urged the Delhi Government to conduct a probe into the latest incident.

“Strict actions will be taken against the people found guilty of negligence”, Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain said. He personally visited the accident site. He further added, “17 people have died due to suffocation and two are injured. Strict actions will be taken against the people found guilty of negligence. The district magistrate has ordered inquiry”.

Among the 17, a mother and a child who tried to escape by jumping from a window of the hotel also died. “Two people who jumped from the window of Hotel Arpit Palace also died”, said Fire Officer Vipin Kental.

According to ANI, Kental further added, “People were not able to escape the corridor because it had wooden panel”.

The Delhi Fire Service said, they received call about the fire at 4:35 am, 26 fire tenders reached the spot.  At least 35 people were rescued from the hotel.
