The rift continues between Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav as the latter resigned as a minister from the UP government on Thursday. He also resigned from the post of state president of Samajwadi Party.
This is the latest in the series of fast-paced developments within the Samajwadi Party. As this Tuesday party supremo Mulayam Singh replaced Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as head of the state unit by appointing Shivpal Yadav as the new state chief. Thereafter, the chief minister divested Shivpal Yadav of three posts he was holding in the government.
Shivpal Yadav was considered as number two in Akhilesh led government, was handling important portfolios like Irrigation and PWD, Land Development, Revenue, Public Service department, Cooperatives etc.
It looks like the Chacha- Bhatija war will continue as Shivpal is not ready to compromise with nephew Akhilesh.
