Popular food delivery company Zomato is on the receiving end of Twitter flak from the morning today after it acknowledged a grievance posted by Swara Bhaskar.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Swara Bhaskar claimed to be a regular customer of Zomato while staying that she is not comfortable with her money indirectly funding the ‘communal bigoted hate.’
Swara posted this tweet while quoting a Twitter Handle named ‘defund the hate’ which shared a clip from Republic Bharat,’s debate on ‘Love Jihad’ while terming it as ‘hate speech’.
In response to the aforementioned tweets, Zomato posted that it is looking into the matter, “Hi Swara, please note, we don’t endorse any content except our own. That being said, we are looking into this.”
This indulgence towards Swara Bhaskar’s demand led to intense anger among many social media users who warned Zomato against taking any action.
Netizens set the social media abuzz with #Boycott Zomato, and some even shared videos of themselves deleting the app.

While Swara Bhasker is also known for her outspoken persona which lands her in social media trouble more often than not. Her previous statements on Love Jihad was also subjected to social media hate.
