Let’s take an oath to save ozone layer on this International Ozone Day.

The ozone layer or ozone shield is a region of earth’s stratosphere that absorbs most of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation. It contains high radiation of ozone in relation to other parts of atmosphere.

Now you may ask why this day is celebrated on 16th September every year? So there is amazing fact behind it that in 1994 ,the General Assembly proclaimed 16th September as International day for prevention of Ozone Layer commemorating the date on 1987 on which Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete Ozone Layer was signed .

Though we are people of 2021 and though science has developed Covaxin in this pandemic and developed in other fields of technology but if the topic comes on ozone layer then science is yet lacking to find permanent solution to save ozone layer .

Professor Vanketesh Dutta of Babasaheb Bhimrao Amedkar Central University told in an interview “Ozone Layer is depleting day by day. According to scientists from past two years the quantity of ozone is very low in stratosphere and it is due to the usage of CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) from ACs and refrigerators.” So, on this International Ozone Day let’s take an oath to save ozone layer and prevent it’s depleting by minimum usage of AC and refrigerator and we should only use ozone friendly products .
