Deepika Kumari, the star Indian archer, has reclaimed the top spot in the world rankings after winning a hat-trick of gold medals at the World Cup stage three. She had won gold in three recurve events – women’s solo, team, and mixed pair – for the first time in 2012, and she was back on top after earning gold in three recurve events – women’s individual, team, and mixed pair. World Archery tweeted, “This is going to take Deepika to the number one slot in the world rankings on Monday!”

Deepika won her debut match against Mexico with the help of Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari. She then teamed up with her husband, Atanu Das, and defeated Netherland. The 27-year-old from Ranchi then defeated Elena Osipova 6-0 to complete a flawless win and earn her fourth individual world cup gold medal. In the world cup, she has nine gold medals, 12 silver medals, and seven bronze medals.

“This is the first World Cup in which I have won all three medals. Deepika told PTI, “I am just pleased, but at the same time, I have to keep developing because we have some very, very major contests coming up.” Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actress, wished the archer well on Instagram. “Wow, best archer in the world had to be from Lord Rama’s land,” she wrote. Deepika Ji, I congratulate you.” Others from Bollywood, like Anupam Kher and Aahana Kumra, praised Deepika on bringing India so much glory and fame on a global scale.
