Ahmed Patel, a close aide of Sonia Gandhi and senior Congress leader, died on Wednesday at the age of 71. Patel was called the troubleshooter of the Congress. He was the closest and political advisor to Sonia Gandhi.

Ahmed Patel was infected with the Coronavirus a month ago. He was undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital, but despite all efforts, he could not be saved. Ahmed Patel himself had informed about being corona positive by tweeting on 1 October. He said in his tweet that I have been found to be corona positive, I urge all those who have come in contact with me to isolate themselves. Patel was called the troubleshooter of the Congress. He was the closest and political advisor to Sonia Gandhi.

Information about his death has been shared by his son Faisal Patel by tweeting. He wrote, ‘It is very sad to say that my father Ahmed Patel passed away at 3.30 am on 25 November. He was found corona positive about a month ago. After this, his condition deteriorated. Many of his body parts stopped working. I pray to all well-wishers to follow the COVID-19 protocol.’

Significantly, Ahmed Patel was infected with the Coronavirus in the first week of October. He was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after his health deteriorated. However, on 18 November, the daughter of Ahmed Patel shared the information that her father’s health was improving. Patel’s daughter Mumtaz gave this information through an audio message.

Patel was called Chanakya of 10 Janpath. He dominated the Congress party. The special thing about him is that he has never been a minister, but has been at the center of power. He was a political advisor and very close to Sonia Gandhi. In Congress, he was very powerful and effective and kept a low profile.
