Days after drawing flak over his ripped jeans comment, Uttarakhand Chief Minister is back with another controversy as he said that people should produce more children to get extra ration during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
In a goof-up during his speech at a program in Nainital’s Ramnagar, Tirath Singh Rawat apparently confused Britain with the US, saying that America ruled over India for over 200 years.
Referring to the distribution of foodgrain during the pandemic, The Uttarakhand CM said that every affected household CM said was given 5 kg of ratings per member.
Those having 10 children got 50 Kg while those with 20 got one quintal. People with two children got 10 kg. People built stores and found buyers,” Rawat said adding he never ate such fine rice.
“Who is to blame for this,” the CM asked. Now you are jealous of it. When there was time, you produced only two. Why didn’t you produce 20,” Rawat said.
At the same event in his speech, Tirath Singh Rawat blamed America for ruling over India for 200 years.
“Jaha America ke 200 varsh take hum log ghulam the, pure vishwa ke andar uska raj tha, kabhi suraj chipta hi nahi tha yeh kehte the. Lekin aaj ke samay me wo dol gaya bol gaya, pone teen laakh se bhi mrityu dar chala gaya ,” Tirath Singh Rawat said.
On the other hand due to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a population of 130-135 crore people still feels relieved, he said.
“Who knows what would have happened to India had anyone else been the prime minister instead of Narendra Modi during this time… we would have been in a bad state. But he (PM) gave us relief,” he said.
The Uttarakhand Chief Minister just earlier this week faced flak for his controversial comments on women wearing ripped jeans and how they cannot he feels provide the right environment at home for children.
He also said that he was shocked to see a woman running an NGO in ripped jeans and was concerned about the example she was setting for society.
Reacting to the remarks made by the Uttarakhand CM, Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala taunted the BJP over the selection of Tirarth Singh Rawat.
