The high voltage drama in West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021 seems to be never-ending as yet another bitter war of words have been started between the ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) over a purported video in which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is seen Shaking her plastered leg while sitting on a wheelchair.
A purported video clip where Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is seen sitting in a wheelchair and moving her plastered leg back and forth has gone viral on social media, giving her opponents an opportunity to claim that she was playing up her injuries to win sympathy.
According to the reports, BJP spokesperson Pronoy Roy shared the 30-second video clip on Facebook that said Ms. Banerjee should ‘stop putting up a drama over her injuries’ to garner public support in the midst of the assembly elections.
“This video grab which has surfaced on networking websites has not been filmed by anybody from the BJP. It was recorded by some TMC party workers. We want her to get back to normal life soon, we also pray for that. but she must stop putting up this drama by moving around in a wheelchair”

On the Other hand, the TMC had rubbished these charges and condemned the ‘manner in which the party supremo has been insulted’.TMC leaders said that BJP should learn how to respect women.
Taking a huge dig at the Chief Minister, Rahul Sinha senior leader of BJP said that the TMC Supremo’s bandage will not buy her votes.
“The more she is losing confidence the bigger her bandage gets. People are not buying this… She must have forgotten which leg is injured and shook the wrong foot. She has already lost the elections, the bandage won’t be able to save her from imminent defeat,” Mr. Sinha said.
Meanwhile, TMC leaders also said that by casting aspersions on Mamata Banerjee’s injury, the BJP has insulted every woman of West Bengal.
“We condemn the manner in which the BJP is insulting our beloved CM. They are not just insulting our CM, but also other women of the state. We urge them to show proper respect to women of this state,” TMC leader and state minister Shashi Panja said.
For the unversed Mamata Banerjee suffered injuries on her leg as she fell after allegedly being pushed by miscreants in Nandigram on March 10. Mamta Banerjee alleged that she was attacked by her opponents before Bengal Assembly Elections.
