Udaipur tailor beheaded over supporting ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma

June 29, 2022 (New Delhi): In Udaipur, Rajasthan, a man who supported Nupur Sharma has been murdered by slitting his throat. It is being told that this person had written a post on Facebook in support of Nupur Sharma 10 days ago. Meanwhile, a video has also surfaced on social media in which two men are seen confessing their atrocities with sharp weapons. Tailor Kanhaiyalal in Udaipur made a post in support of Nupur Sharma 10 days ago. He started receiving threats from that day itself.

The incident took place near Bhootmahal in Maldas Street, Udaipur. After this, an atmosphere of tension has arisen in the city. Angry people have closed the markets and are protesting at Dehligate near the collectorate. Police say that they are probing every aspect. Teams have been formed to nab the accused. According to eyewitnesses, this matter reached the police station once before and the police had also got an agreement done between the two. But, the accused of violent tendencies killed the youth brutally by slapping on the neck. The accused was also threatening her for several days. Police has started arresting the accused.

Kanhaiyalal Teli (40), who runs a shop in the name of Supreme Tailors near Bhootmahal in Dhanmandi police station area, was working at the shop itself, when two miscreants came around 2.30 pm. Entered the shop on the pretext of getting clothes stitched. Before Kanhaiyalal could understand anything, the miscreants attacked him with knives and swords. More than half a dozen hits. Kanhaiyalal died on the spot. Being a sensitive area, a large number of police forces have been deployed. Many social and political organizations closed the four walls and the surrounding markets in the city. Top police officers and FSL team reached the spot. The team collected evidence from the spot.

Leader of Opposition demanded to catch the accused soon. After getting information about the incident, city MLA and Leader of Opposition Gulabchand Kataria spoke to SP Manoj Chaudhary and appealed to nab the accused.

The relatives told that Kanhaiyalal was a resident of Govardhan Vilas area. 10 days ago she posted on social media in favor of Nupur Sharma. Since then, people of a particular community were threatening to kill him. Kanhaiyalal was troubled by the constant threats. He had not even opened his tailor’s shop for 6 days. He was given a named report about the youths threatening the police. The police did not take him seriously by saying that he should be careful for a few days.

Meanwhile, after the horrific incident in Udaipur, the district administration has announced curfew by stopping traffic in Dhanmandi, Ghantaghar, Hathipol, Ambamata, Surajpol, Bhupalpura and Savina police station areas. This will be effective till further orders. Director General of Police AL Lather said that strict action would be taken against those trying to disturb law and order. No criminal will be spared. A company of about 30 RPS and 5 RAC has been deployed. An appeal has been made to the general public to exercise restraint. An alert has been issued in the entire state. Instructions have been issued to the police to increase patrolling in their respective areas.

Regarding this incident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted and said “I condemn the heinous murder of the youth in Udaipur. Strict action will be taken against all the criminals involved in this incident. The police will go to the bottom of the crime. I appeal to all parties to maintain peace. Every person involved in such a heinous crime will be punished severely.”

BJP leader Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore tweeted “Gehlot government is responsible for this dastardly incident in Udaipur, because this government left the main rioter of Karauli riots open. In Tonk, Maulana threatened to take off the necks of Hindus, no action was taken. This killer also continued to threaten massacre by making videos, but the government remained silent.”

BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya tweeted “Two Muslims killed Hindu shopkeeper Kanhaiya Lal inside his shop in Udaipur. He has also taken responsibility for this by releasing a video. He has also threatened PM Modi by showing weapons.” However, CM Ashok Gehlot has promised to investigate the matter. At the same time, BJP leader Kapil Mishra has said that a Sankalp March will be taken out at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi at 5 pm on June 29 to pay tribute to Kanhaiya Lal ji and for the destruction of terror.
