It is not every time when TV anchor bring her own child to a live TV while she anchors the show. Samaa TV, a Pakistani news channel, did something to disseminate a strong message on a 7-year-old girl who was brutally raped and murdered in Pakistan’s Kasur district.

According to a video tweeted by journalist Omar R. Quraishi, Pakistan TV anchor Kiran Naz can be seen sitting with her daughter and talking about the barbaric rape and murder of a young girl from Pakistan’s Kasur district. The 7-year-old’s dead body was found in a rubbish dump on Tuesday.

In the video, that garnered the worldwide support, Naz can be heard saying, “Today I am not the same Naz, instead, I am a mother and that’s the reason why I am sitting with my daughter.”

She further adds, “It is rightly said that smaller corpse feels heavier. Today, Pakistan is under the same heavy feel as a tiny corpse is lying on the streets of Kasur. This day marks the funeral of humanity.”

According to a CCTV footage, Ansari was last seen walking with a man, right before she went missing last week. The deceased was reportedly staying with her relatives while her parents had gone to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

It was the twelfth incident of a girl being abducted, raped, and killed in the past year in Kasur district, police say. Residents have been furious at the authorities for what they see as a failure to investigate such cases.
