This Team of Kashmiri Cricket Club Wore Pakistani Jersey  and Sang Their National Anthem

Recently, Kashmir is in news for the ongoing tension between forces and residents of the valley. On every other day, there are some stories of militants being killed. There is a rise of new age militancy in Kashmir is actually raising gaps between New Delhi and Kashmir.

In the middle of this situation, there is a new video surfaced on social media in which players of Kashmiri cricket club were seen wearing Pakistani cricket team jersey. In the video, the players actually started the match singing Pakistani national anthem.

The cricket match played at the Wayil playfield in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on April 2, coincided with hartal call by separatists against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s brief visit to the state for the inauguration of Nashri tunnel.

There were two teams one in Pakistani cricket uniform and other in white. While talking to a tabloid the players told that “We wanted our team to look different and also wanted to show fellow Kashmiris that we haven’t forgotten Kashmir issue, so we found this particular theme as most appropriate and catchy”.

Some players said that initially, they were apprehensive wearing the uniforms but when other players wore it they felt confident and followed them.

When asked about that didn’t they fear the consequences before wearing them they told, “Why should we be scared when Kashmir is a disputed territory and Allah is with us? We have not harmed anyone but just played cricket the way we wanted to with all the creativity and relevance to our homeland.”

These kinds of incidents are actually getting more and more prevalent these days. Earlier, this year a melodious version of Pakistani national anthem was sung by two musicians of Kashmir.
